Getting Organized

So, I have a 16 month old that happens to be a very active little boy...  I am a stay-at-home mom and therefore my "free" time is very limited (to say the least).  Not complaining...   Because I LOVE IT!!!  It just makes getting "other things" a little more challenging...  :)

I plan all the crafts for his Beginners Sabbath School class every week...  And it was getting pretty challenging...  So, I decided to get myself organized and make the most out of the little time I had...  And one of the things I did was create a schedule...  I worked on an Excel Worksheet, with dates, activities planned, story, notes, etc.  It looks something like this...
This helps a lot!!!!  I keep it in the classroom and other teachers can actually help when I'm not there...  This way, I have everything planned for months ahead of time :)  I do have a blank copy, if anyone would like :)

I also created files to keep the craft sample and another to keep the 'left overs"...  Which can be used if you ever run out of any activity...  I have the list in PDF format, if anyone is interested I can email it to you (Since I am just figuring out how to do all of this...)

On another note...  If by any chance you like anything you find on any website or blog... and its a free printable - PRINT IT!!!  Preferably, print-to-file...  I have saved the "links" to some of theses materials, to later find out that the webpage is GONE!!!  It just happened with one of my favorite sites!!!!!
I created a folder in my desktop called Children's Ministries...  and I try to SAVE EVERYTHING I CAN :)

Hope this helps!!!
Later :)

Bible Story: Joash the Boy King

Sorry for posting this so late...  I know some of you like to get all their lessons prepared ahead of time :)
So, for the story of Joash... Here's what I found...
On the topic of being a Boy King, you can make all kinds of crowns for the kids.  You can make them from "scratch" (you will need to cut/add depending on the kids head-size) or just buy them and have the kids decorate them :) You can try making them from carstock paper or you can also use felt (it would have to be a heavier weight felt or just glue two pieces together to give it some stability).

Here's a great tutorial on felt crowns from Hellobee:

Here's another on cardboard ones from Made by Joel...

Oriental Trading sells them already pre-cut and adjustable.  They come in all kinds of colors and shapes (around $3/dozen)

You can buy stickers, gem stickers, foam shapes, jewels, and all kinds of things for the kids to add/decorate their crown :)

For coloring pages as Joash, the boy King...  I couldnt find much that I like :(  But here are several that might work...

Not much on this story...  If you find something cute, please let me know :)

Ciao'
God Bless!

Bible Story: Joseph's New Coat

Here are some of the activities for next month's story on Joseph.  This one is quite simple, since most of the story revolves around the "coat", but we can still get a little creative on this one too :)

These are coloring pages that I though were cute (two of them are in spanish)

Parvulines Me Aburre La Religion EBI

So, on other types of crafts...  here are a variety that can be used :)
The blog Me Aburre La Religion is one of my favorites...  This is one of the crafts they have, among a bunch of others...
 Me Aburre La Religion

Another of my favorites is My Little House...  He has some amazing crafts!!!  This is what he has on Joseph and his brothers...
My Little House

You can also grab various sheets of construction paper (or any other colored paper you may have)...  All in different colors...  and cut them up in little pieces so the kids can glue them into a blank "coat"...  Here's a free sample of a "blank coat".  You can also get stickers (like circles in different colors) for kids to fill the "blank" areas of the coat...  Or, cut small strips of paper/fabric/felt for them to glue them on...  Lots of options on this one :)

Here's also a bookmark for them to color...

Happy crafting!!
See you soon!
God Bless!!

Bible Story: Daniel & the Lions

This has been quite a challenging month for me...  Without much explaining, I would like to ask that you pray for my family, especially my grandfather...  Thank you!
So, its taken me longer to gather up all the information I have on lions :)  On Daniel, there are so many cute crafts!!!  Lets start with paper bag puppets...Here are some of my favorites...

There's a ton of ideas on Danielle's Place, however you do need to sign up and pay to be a member.  Its not really expensive, being that you can get a ton of craft ideas on their website...
 Krokotak
This one is super easy and super cute!!  Its basically 3 different size hearts...  Check it out!!

So this is another cute one that I found at Oh My Fiesta and it can be used for a lion or a cat :)

A couple of ideas that I found were on lion "origami"...  Its quite interesting and it turns out really nicely...  Here are a couple of them (one can be colored too)...

This happens to be a really interesting one, because you cut the box out and glue Daniel and the Lion inside as if he were in a real "hole"...  The kids can color it before they glue it...  Its basically like building a box but with the colored parts inside (since the top is open, you can see inside anyway).  The next one is a bit similar but its not a "box" shape and you cannot color, so you have options :)

Also, on the Teachers Guide at Gracelink, there's a picture of a lion that you can print to have the kids color and later glue on a stick...  Or just give them a coloring page... Here are some which I liked...

So, there it is...  a lot of options!!!  I will remind you that this coming month is mother's day...  We typically make a "Happy Mother's Day" card for the kids to give their moms or some other cute gift...  Just to keep that in mind...

Ciao' Until Next Time!!   God Bless!!!

Bible Story: David, the Shepherd

On the story of David, the Shepherd...  Well...  there are quite a bit of crafts on lambs :)  A lot of them!!!!  So, I have quite an array of options on this subject...  These can also be used if you are doing the story of the Good Shepherd.

The Lambsongs website has all the Bible stories in coloring books and activities. You can also print them in color or black/white...   I have found soooooooo many Bible stories there!!!  I think they have just about ALL of them :)  Here are some of the activities on David, the Shepherd (because they have more on his life as king, Goliath, etc)

So, here are a couple other activities for this coming month...

This one is just a little box.  You can cut it right out and fold and glue...  Super easy.  It does have little ears to cut out separately and glue on the sides.  Its super cute and they kids can color it if they want to.  Do print them in heavy paper.

Handmade Cuddles

This lamb was in the lesson activities for this story...  I used white foamies and covered it in a fluffy fabric (there's a ton to choose from)...  cut out strips and stapled two ends together to make a cylinder shape (the stapled section goes towards the bottom part of the sheep).  You can also use a paper towel roll and cover it with cotton balls.  Although, I would cover the paper towel roll with white paper, so you cant see the brown color showing through :)

This one I made into a puppet instead of a stuffed animal like it shows in the blog...  I had to make it work as a craft for kids to work on during Sabbath School.  So, I made the "body" in white felt and sewed around it leaving enough space on the sides to glue the arms...  and an opening on the bottom.  During class, they can just glue the pieces to the white felt :)

This cutie pie was made with wood clothespins (you can buy a pack of 36 at the Dollar Tree).  We made two pieces of the boy part (one for the front and one for the back).  All the kids had to do in class was glue all the pieces together.  It can even work as a picture holder (since the pins were placed upward).

Me aburre la religion

This one is super easy...  Check out the website :) they have a ton of other activities also.  The kids can choose to color it too... So its quite fun!!!

Lambsongs

These are the absolute cutest!!  All you have to do is cut them out (and there's 4 different ones), punch holes and pull two pieces of yarn (one for hands and one for the feet)...  and voila!  Just make some knots at the ends so the yarn wont come off.  Do use some heavy yarn and you can have pink and blue for the kiddos (the girls will appreciate the pink- LOL!)

Lambsongs

This one is also from Lambsongs... Print them in cardstock paper.  I enlarged it to fit in an 11"x17" cardstock (so it would be a decent size).  Basically, they can color it and fold in half, glue and thread yarn...  Its super easy and fun!!!

So, here it is for now...  there's a bunch more that I have on this subject...  But this could get you started...  Please email me if you have any questions :)  I would be glad to help out.

Bible Story: The Great Parade

So, the Bible stories that we use for our Sabbath School are found on GraceLink (it has the Teachers Guide, Activities, etc)...  It is posted by the General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists and it changes every three months.  I am basically doing the curriculum for BEGINNERS (since that's where my son is)...

The story for the month of March is Jesus' triumphal entry to Jerusalem...  And based on this I have found the following activities for our kids to work on (well, for this age...  its mostly for the parents to work on - LOL!)
I found this pattern on this website...  I did print it on heavy paper (cardstock).  Its the cutest and it does stand on its own :)

Another craft was making a palm leaf...  Well, there's a ton of ideas on this out there...  Several palm leaf patterns are available...
This is the one I made...
Pattern from Gods Shining Stars
You can have the kids glue it to a stick (I used the large ones) and write "HOSANA" on the leaf...

If you have foamy letters, they can use these too...  or stickers...  the possibilities are endless...

One thing that the kids do like to do is coloring...  So, at times I will find a page for them to color...  If you were to do a search on this topic, there's a ton of coloring pages to choose from...  For example, check this Google search...   There's tons of them...
Printable Colouring Pages has a ton of options
In addition...  we did purchase some crafts from Oriental Trading...  They do have a lot of options when it comes to crafts...

This is all for now...  Good night everyone!!
